Wealth Management for Retirees and Pre-Retirees in Central Florida

Wealth management is much more than just managing investments. For retirees and pre-retirees, it means coordinating your portfolio with your income needs, tax situation, Social Security strategy, Medicare decisions, estate planning goals, and long-term financial priorities.

At Nordmann Wealth Management, we work with clients in Sanford/Lake Mary and throughout the greater Orlando area who want a thoughtful, organized approach to retirement. Our clients have often spent decades accumulating wealth. When they reach retirement, they want to know how to preserve it, draw from it, invest it wisely, and eventually transfer it according to their wishes.

Client Centered Wealth Management

Client Centered Wealth Management

Every client comes to us with a different story. Some are preparing to retire within the next year. Some are deciding whether to work a few more years. Some are already retired and want a more coordinated investment and income strategy. Others have inherited assets, sold a business, changed jobs, lost a spouse, or reached the age where required minimum distributions are becoming important.

Because each situation is different, we don't start with a product or a model portfolio. We begin with a conversation.

We want to understand your lifestyle, family needs, expected expenses, retirement income sources, risk tolerance, tax concerns, and legacy goals. From there, we develop a wealth management strategy designed to support the life you want to live.

Retirement income planning

Retirement income planning

A major part of wealth management is determining how to create reliable income after the paycheck stops. Retirement income can come from many sources, including Social Security, pensions, IRAs, 401(k)s, taxable accounts, annuities, rental income, business interests, and cash reserves.

The order and timing of withdrawals matters. Drawing from the wrong account at the wrong time may increase taxes, create Medicare premium issues, reduce flexibility, or leave assets poorly positioned for future needs. We help clients evaluate tax-sensitive withdrawal strategies and develop an income plan that is understandable and sustainable.

Independent advice and fee-based fiduciary management

As independent financial advisors, we provide advice based on your specific needs and circumstances. It's our strong preference to manage client relationships through a fee-based advisory platform, where compensation is based on assets under management.  With that, we represent you as a fiduciary and our interests are aligned.  Our client accounts are held at Raymond James & Associates, a well known Florida firm.

This approach allows us to integrate planning, investment management, and ongoing advice into your relationship.

Investment management

Your portfolio should reflect your goals, income needs, time horizon, and comfort with risk. A pre-retiree who is about to leave work has different needs than a younger investor still accumulating assets. A retiree who depends on monthly portfolio withdrawals has much different needs than someone who doesn't need income from their investments.

We help clients build and manage portfolios with attention to income needs, risk, diversification, liquidity, tax sensitivity, and long-term intentions. We also help clients understand specifically how much risk they are taking and whether that level of risk matches their needs and their retirement plan.

Tax-aware planning

Taxes do not disappear in retirement and in many cases, they become more complex. Retirees may need to coordinate IRA withdrawals, required minimum distributions, Roth conversions, Social Security taxation, capital gains, charitable giving, Medicare income thresholds, and estate planning.

While we do not specifically provide tax advice, we help clients identify planning opportunities and coordinate with their tax professionals when appropriate. The goal is to make better decisions before tax consequences become surprises.

Estate and legacy planning coordination

Many clients want to preserve wealth not only for themselves, but also for a spouse, children, grandchildren, charities, or other beneficiaries. We help review beneficiary designations, account titling, and distribution goals so your financial assets are aligned with your broader estate and giving plan, including charitable giving when appropriate.

We can also help coordinate conversations with attorneys and tax professionals so your investment accounts, retirement accounts, and estate planning documents work together as intended.

Local wealth management for Central Florida

At Nordmann Wealth Management, we focus on clients in the communities we know best: Lake Mary, Sanford, Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Orange City, Deltona, DeLand, and the broader Seminole, Orange, and Volusia County areas.
