Meet Larry Nordmann | Financial Advisor in Lake Mary, FL
Larry W. Nordmann
Founding Partner
Larry Nordmann is the Founding Partner of Nordmann Wealth Management in Lake Mary, Florida. He specializes in helping retirees and pre-retirees make confident decisions about retirement income, portfolio management, tax-sensitive planning, Medicare considerations, and wealth transfer.
Larry’s primary focus is working with people who are approaching retirement or have recently retired. This is often when financial decisions become more connected and more consequential. A client may need to decide when to claim Social Security, how to replace a paycheck, whether a pension option makes sense, how much to withdraw from retirement accounts, how to withhold for or manage taxes, how Medicare fits into the budget, and how to position assets for a surviving spouse or future beneficiaries.
Larry helps clients organize those questions and turn them into a clear plan.
Background and education
Larry is a third-generation Floridian and was raised in a small town in Northeast Florida. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Florida, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BBA in Finance with a focus on portfolio management and securities analysis.
He later attended the University of Florida, completing his MBA on weekends while working full time as a commercial real estate lender and manager. That combination of academic training and real-world financial experience shaped his practical, client-centered approach to planning and investment.
Before founding Nordmann Wealth Management, Larry spent 18 years with SunTrust, now Truist, working across multiple geographic regions of Florida before settling in Central Florida. His banking career included a variety of leadership roles and culminated in his position as an Executive Vice President.
Why retirement planning
Larry founded Nordmann Wealth Management out of a passion to provide personal, individualized, comprehensive guidance to clients facing important financial transitions. For many clients, the transition into retirement is the moment when they need the most advice and clarity.
Accumulating assets is one challenge; turning those assets into income is another entirely. Retirement planning requires decisions about cash flow and living expenses, tax strategy, risk, account withdrawals and tax withholding, Medicare, estate planning, and long-term family goals. Larry’s role is to help clients understand those decisions and feel more prepared for the future.
He believes clients should leave planning conversations with a clearer picture of what retirement may look like and what steps need to be taken next.
A local Central Florida practice
Larry's practice includes the greater Orlando area of Seminole, Orange, and Volusia Counties, and focused on Lake Mary, Sanford, Longwood, Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Orange City, Deltona, DeLand, and surrounding communities.
By keeping the practice local, Larry is able to build long-term relationships and remain accessible to clients who value in-person guidance and a financial advisor who understands the Central Florida community.
Personal
When Larry is not working with clients, he enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and son. He also believes in giving back to the community and has served in numerous leadership capacities of his church in Longwood.
Areas of focus
Larry’s work includes retirement income planning, portfolio management, Social Security planning, tax-sensitive withdrawal strategies, Medicare planning, estate planning coordination, rollovers, employer retirement plans, and general financial planning.
While Nordmann Wealth Management serves a variety of clients, Larry’s strongest fit is often with pre-retirees and retirees who want help answering one essential question: Am I ready for retirement, and what should I do next?
